Step 1 - Select and Register a Domain Name
Your domain name (www.yourdomain.com) is the address for your Web site and e-mail, but more important, it is your unique your brand. Here are some tips to help you choose the right name:
- Use a domain name that describes your product or services, or your company name. If you find the name you want is taken try different variations try the name with a hyphen, abbreviation or suffix .
- Keep your name as short as possible, Avoid overly long or complex names that will be difficult to remember or names that contain words that are frequently mis-spelled.
- Names can include up to 67 characters. Names cannot begin with a hyphen, but they can begin with a number.
- If .com is not available, you can try .net, .org, .biz or .info. Some businesses register their name with all available extensions to insure their site is not confused with others.
Step 2 - Select a Hosting Package
Select the web hosting package that best suits your needs. When determining the web hosting plan that is best for your website you should estimate the total amount of diskspace you require and the amount of data transfer (Bandwidth) your site will use.
